Hello, I created this blog because Melbourne is my city and I want people to see what a beautiful place it is. So come with me on a journey of discovery as we traverse the dining precincts, the culture, the laneways and hidden gems that make Melbourne marvellous.

Cellar Door

Panton Hill Winery
A boutique winery with many fine old antiques inside and classical music playing. The "symbol" above their doorway reminded me greatly of the symbol of a well-known Italian Fahion designer.

Ahh, that looks so sunny and cheerful and warm; I can just hear the music playing...

I really like it, but I think it deserves a better roof... It's lovely anyway!

That's really weird... I have a photo almost identical to this picture, with a difference. Mine was taken at the Ksara Winery, in the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon.
This is a universal picture: this could be in France, South Africa, Spain, Lebanon, and so on. Wine drinkers are people with taste!!! Says a frenchman!

Hi,
This house is very similar to those in my country, Catalonia. I love the photo of the tattoo, you were very brave in asking for permission. Here the people are not willing to pose, and thus should be Porl steal the photo, you must be very fast. Thanks for your visit.

Meri - It is a lovely place for a Sunday arvo drive.

Three Rivers - It was a hot day but the warmth of the bricks would be welcoming on a winter's day.

JM - Many years ago, a tin roof was cheaper than a tiled one. But slate or terracotta would look more in keeping.

Rob and Mandy - I received the impression the lady of the house or should I say vineyard was of Italian descent - she talked of Tuscany. And yes, winedrinkers are people with taste - says an Australian.

Johhny - It is perhaps the sandstone that helps create the universal look - plus the potted geraniums. Don't know about being brave - always did have trouble keeping quiet:-)

Paul - If you like wines, you'll love our wineries. What is English wine like?

J Bar - Thanks, having a sunny day helps.

Leif - Many a friend is found over a glass of wine.

Cezar and Léia - Yes, their Chardonay wasn't too bad.

B Squared - Wine's good, I call it singing syrup!

Vogon Poet - Their chardonay was actually very nice. They also do fortifieds.
