Standing and watching these intrepid rowers one wintry morning, a comment by a BBC sports commentator came to mind,
"Ah! isn't that nice, the wife of the Cambridge president is kissing the cox of the Oxford crew" - Harry Carpenter, BBC TV Boat Race (1977)

Hello, I created this blog because Melbourne is my city and I want people to see what a beautiful place it is. So come with me on a journey of discovery as we traverse the dining precincts, the culture, the laneways and hidden gems that make Melbourne marvellous.

Carpenter was a great commentator.
Gosh, you do have a beautiful blog!!! I specially adore your header! Carry on!
Hello! I like your photos and the introduction to Melbourne. I especially like your photos of street art, sculptures - and that sculptural lamb shank...
The rowers, though, make me want to put on a coat, brrr.
Best from sunny Michigan, USA

Zyzzyz - and he had a good sense of humour, too.

Three Rivers - Hi, thanks for that. Yes, mu Mum never cooked lanmb shank looking like that!
Actually, it was a lovely mild day when the rowers were on the water. Think from memory it was about 12ÂșC.
