Autumn Glory

The fiery reds of Autumn
I love the glorious colours of Autumn and was so taken with the beauty and colour of these trees when I was driving down a local street visiting a family member, I just had to stop and get out. The silver bit in the bottom right hand corner is my car. The Acer Palmatum (Japanese Maple) is one of the most beautiful trees, especially in Autumn when the leaves turn a rich, fiery orange-red. Unfortunately, the tree was so large, I wasn't able to get the whole tree in the photo. But here's another shot below -
Above: Acer Palmatum
These streets are in one of our outer suburbs not far from the Dandenongs - you can see the Dangenong Ranges in the distance at the top of this street near the main road. Photos taken 16th May this year.

Autumn is my favourite time of year (until the colours and leaves are all gone, that is!)

oh look, word verification is 'pretty'!

Even though my son lives in the Southern Hemisphere (Buenos Aires), it always seems strange to have the seasons reversed. Fall colors in May, winter in July. In Central America, it does not make much difference.

I love the warm colors of autumn too. Too bad that I don't live in a place that has 4 seasons. I'd probably go crazy taking photos as well. Great captures.

Still have a hard time with the seasons being opposite of ours.

My fave time of year is May, but the colours are not as glorious red like your pic.

fabulous colour. We have very few autumn trees. But then we don't have freezing weather.

Fabulous reds!
We in the northern hemisphere tend to forget that when its summer here, it is autumn heading to winter there - thanks for the reminder!

I do miss these kinds of colors in central Florida...at least we have a change of seasons (unlike South Florida) and some leaves change but they aren't as dramatic or beautiful as these.
