Great capture. I was wondering what defined "proper attire." These days there is a rather wide variation in definitions of proper attire. I've seen the "No shirt, no shoes, no service" signs before.
My father used to wear a suit with tie most every day. But in the 30s, 40s and 50s that was considered proper attire for gentlemen.
Today? It's up for grabs.
