I have my eye on you
This is the companion piece to yesterday's photo (Life in a bottle). As you walk along the side street to the main road, the eye is drawn to the sea of faces watching which leads you to the next painting, which in turn shows you the restaurant name - Turkish Place.
This is so eye-catching! Very cool indeed.
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly the word I was going to use: eye-catching. Great picture!
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures.
ReplyDeleteI was going to ask what the point was, but you made it clear. I suppose this would be effective advertising...it would be difficult to ignore it...
ReplyDeleteA tremendous amount of work has gone into this series of murals, BFG. They must look terrific as one walks along through them.
ReplyDeleteWell spotted.
I like this view even better! Painted by someone with a good sense of humor.

Very funny! And many of them seem to have big noses.
ReplyDeleteJM - Probably what the artist (and restaurant owner) intended.
ReplyDeleteEmilymichelle - It is eye-catching isn't it - the passer-by's face looking at the wall of faces.
John Turner - Thanks, I like them too.
Jacob - It probably accomplishes what it set out to do.
Julie - Thanks. I noticed them (it's hard not to) as I was driving down the main road and just had to stop for a better look.
Three Rivers - I think the first one is more pleasing, but the second make you really look.
Rob and Mandy - Not only do they have big noses, but their eyes "follow" you.
Hello,
ReplyDeleteThank you for all your recent comments. :) I did respond to the bologna one at the bottom of that post, but I came here to answer your question about Blue Willow. No, I don't know the story and I did a quick search on Wikipedia and they had no info.
I started collecting it when I was single, but stopped after having children. Plastic took over then. But last year found a big box of them at a garage sale, so I was able to bulk up my collection. :) I have an interesting piece that no one has been able to tell me what it is. I have been told maybe a scrubbie holder, but it is too small for that. Do you have any ideas? It's the bottom picture.

I'll leave a comment about the Blue Willow story on your blog.
ReplyDeleteCheers.
